How do I move my playlist from windows media player to itunes?

I've just gotten my ipod and downloaded itunes, now how do I move my playlists from windows media player to itunes? I have File>Add File to Library then when I click on the playlist nothing happens, nothing is added to my itunes. I've tried dragging it into it but that doesn't work either. Thanks a lot.
