I hate my boring boyfriend?

Okay maybe 'hate' is a bit harsh, he's a really nice person, but he is just so boring!! We have been out for dinner 3 times, in the past year and a half - once my birthday, once valentines day and other time i dragged him out! All he talks about is clothes hes bought online or what he's had for dinner? I just don't like the guy, he's a bit needy too...should i just dump him? He is such a good person and he really cares about me, but were both CLEARLY not looking for the same thing in a relationship :-/ am i being too horrible and picky? or just saying how i feel?
