I have a dead cylinder, can I make it long distance?

I drive a 2002 jeep wrangle 6 cylinder. Well it drags *** up hill and definitely kills my gas milage but I'm curious if even though I'm having these issues if I would be able to make it back to Oregon from southern California? What are the odds of breaking down?
