Any Veterinarians out there?

As I am not a vet, I can't answer your question specifically...but I do suggest calling and making an appointment with a local veterinarian to discuss these questions with you. Maybe ask the vet you know? I did an internship at a vet clinic in highschool....if he/she can't/won't help you, there should be a veterinarian in your area that wouldn't mind answering a few questions....maybe bring coffee :D Good Luck!
