How do you download a survival game mode on minecraft?

I have tried to download this survival game for minecraft ( http://www.mediafire.com/?4gcrjzk04efokxz ) and i started the download and said save than saved on to my desktop and went to minecraft and went to mods and texture packs then open texturepack folder and dragged the folder into the window that opened and it showed up on minecraft, but it was black and white and I couldn't open it, I was wondering if someone could help.
